Photography Monday: Danville Concours d’Elegance

My husband and I were on vacation last week and I have much to share with you.  We went on a road trip to visit some familiar sights and explore new areas too.  Our first stop was Danville, to visit my brother and his family.  On our first night, we walked to dinner and explored a little of this historic town.  Along the way, my husband noticed the banner advertising the Danville Concours d’Elegance.  Fortunately for us, it was the next day and a short walk from my brother’s home.  More than 175 cars were on display and it is a fundraiser for Parkinson’s research and patient care.  The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed the stroll along the boulevard.

Photography Monday: Front Door Series #4

Love the landscaping!

Love the landscaping!

The lush landscape leads the eye up to the front door.  There is just enough greenery around the door to soften it and welcome you.  The wreath and flag are wonderful additions and adds the personal touch.  With the heat wave we have been experiencing as of late, the approach to this front door is shady and cool.  A pleasurable respite from the heat.

Cricut Friday: Birthday Card #13

Blow out the candles

Blow out the candles!

A series of birthdays are coming up so I had to put the Cricut back into service.  My machine went on tour for a month and spent some time with a few girlfriends that had important projects to complete.  You need the following tools and supplies to create this card:

Fold the pink cardstock so it is a finished size of 4.25″x 5.5″ and cut the white cardstock to 5.25″x 4″.  Cut all of the pieces for the cake at 4″.  Adhere all of the layers of the cake together.  Run the white cardstock through the Cuttlebug machine to emboss.  Adhere the cake to the embossed cardstock and the epoxy stickers to the cake.

This cartridge has hidden gems in it like this cake.  The birthday cake has been done many times in many cartridges, but this is a more formal one.  Love it and had to add the epoxy stickers for that added sparkle!  Hope my sister-in-law loves it too.

Photography Monday: Front Porch Series #2

Unusual decoration for the statues

Cheeky decoration for the statues

I would like to meet the occupant of this home.  A small, quaint front porch with stone statues that are appropriate for Tinsel Town.  Love the sunglasses!  And, I applaud anyone that has the courage to embrace their personal style.  Kudos!

Love it!

Enjoying Summer

Magnificent dinner plate dahlia

Magnificent dinner plate dahlia

You are probably wondering why I haven’t posted as much lately.  I have been enjoying the last few weeks of summer by making fruit salad dressed with Strawberry Vinegar, making lots of Pineappleade, picking and delivering dahlias to work, making pesto and hummus, scrapbooking with my friends, pinning on Pinterest and watching UCLA Bruin football.  I enjoy the small things in life and these things bring me much joy.
